Caring for Clarity Chat is as simple as 1, 2, 3.

    Changing the Batteries

    Step 1:

    Gently pull open the battery door with your fingernail.

    Get a new battery and peel off the plastic tab.

    The cleaning tool has a magnetic tip used for picking up the batteries and placing them in the battery door.

    Insert the new battery into the battery compartment with the (+) sign or tab side of the battery facing up (you should still be able to see the (+) sign after battery has been inserted). Wait 1-2 minutes before closing the battery door to allow the battery to fully charge.

    Close the battery door and your Clarity Chat is now on.

    Step 1:

    Grasp the end of the thin tube that is attached to the receiver.

    Gently turn approximately 90 degrees.

    Pull to remove the tubing from the receiver.

    Line up the end of the tubing vertically with the receiver and press the tubing back onto the receiver until it snaps into place.

    To Remove: Firmly grasp the dome and pull

    To install: Line up the hole on the back of the dome with the tubing and press firmly until it is completely on the end of the tubing.

    Adjusting Volumes - There are 5 volume levels with each program

    Step 1:

    Lightly press the top (+) of the volume control to increase the volume. You should hear a beep indicating you have raised your volume by 1 level. You will hear voice prompts when you reach the maximum volume setting.

    Lightly press the bottom (–) of the volume control switch to decrease the volume. You should hear a beep indicating you have lowered your volume by 1 level. You will hear voice prompts when you reach the maximum volume setting.

    Adjusting Programs

    The program control allows you to choose between 4 program settings. By firmly pressing and holding the program control for 1 second, you advance the program setting as indicated by voice prompts. The voice prompt will let you know which program has been selected. The dome tip must be in your ear canal to hear the voice prompt. Use the program that sounds the best to you a majority of the time.

    Program 1 Recommended program for all listening situations

    Program 2 Recommended for noisy environments
    (restaurants or social settings)

    Program 3 Recommended for quiet environments
    (1-on-1 conversations or watching TV)

    Program 4 T-Coil – Recommended for clearer sound when using a telephone, cell phone, or induction loop system.
    (Example of potentially looped locations: Churches, Theaters, Concert Halls etc.)

    Step 1

    Gently clean your Clarity Chat with a soft, dry towel or paper towel in conjunction with the provided cleaning tools. Never use cleaning products or solvents because they can damage your device.

    Always separate the tubing from the receiver before cleaning. Grasp the end of the thin tube that is attached to the receiver. Gently turn approximately 90 degrees.

    Pull to remove the dome tip from the tubing.

    The brush side of the cleaning tool is used to clean the microphone port and earpiece from earwax and debris.

    The wire end on the cleaning tool is for removing earwax and debris from the dome tips. Remove the dome tip from the thin tubing, insert the wire end of the cleaning tool, and twist in a circular motion. For optimal performance replace the dome tip every 3 months.

    The long thin wire is used to clean out any earwax or debris that may have accumulated in the thin tubing. For optimal performance replace the tubing every 3 months.

    Wearing Your Clarity Chat™

    Step 1:

    Hold the thin tube between your thumb and index finger. The dome tip opening should be pointing in towards your ear canal. Look for the colored number/letter combination on the tubing (RED=RIGHT EAR, BLUE=LEFT EAR).

    If you are unable to see the red and blue letter/number combination on the tubing, hold up your Clarity Chat with the tubing and dome attached as illustrated.

    Step 2:

    Place your Clarity Chat over the top of your ear until it rests securely behind the ear.

    While holding the Clarity Chat in place, insert the dome tip into your ear canal, and curl/tuck the retention loop along the body of your ear. The dome tip should be completely, or almost completely, in the ear canal. Proper inser­tion of the dome tip will ensure you are getting enough amplification out of the receiver and help avoid whistling.

    There are 2 probable issues that will cause you to believe your Clarity Chat isn’t working properly: ear wax and low batteries.

    Wax: See "How To Clean My Clarity Chat™" for cleaning instructions. If wax buildup is in ear, please seek help from a doctor.

    Low Battery: See "How Do I Change Batteries" for battery installation instructions. Turn off when not in use to maximize battery life.

    Troubleshooting your Clarity Chat™

    Humidity

    Other issues may be a result of humidity exposure. Humidity build up on the internal parts can cause the device to go dead or temporarily malfunction. If your device has been exposed to high humidity, remove it and open the battery door to let dry naturally.

    Why is my Clarity Chat whistling?
